Oh Christmas Tree!

It is my most favorite time of the year!  I spend about two weeks decorating my house before Thanksgiving (I know, I know:) so that the day after Thanksgiving my family and I can cut down the perfect Oregon Nobel.  It never quite feels like Christmas until this happens........

MOD-ulous

Check out this modern wall installation using mod tiles.  This is a great option for large scale walls that make a big impact.  It blends perfectly with their sleek, gas fireplace.  Totally and utterly MOD-ulous!

Snowglory

We really lighted up her otherwise dark rooms in Snowglory from Miller Paint and painted all of the ceiling beams in white.  This gave the rooms a modern and fresh feel immediately!

Wall of Shelf

We purchased 3 separate units from Ikea to fill her large wall.  It houses all of her treasures and books that she has collected over of the years, along with much needed storage for her young children.  These shelving units come in an array of colors and are so affordable!

Vintage Dining

We switched out the light fixture and added a glass cabinet to display her collection of vintage salt and pepper shakers.  Both from Ikea

Well, it is officially Halloween at our house!  I still have a bit of fine tuning, but am enjoying the fruits of my labor.  So, start getting yours out too!  You can always start with purchasing really interesting gourds from the grocery store and decorating a dining room table.  It's Fall Festiviss!!!

Hello Fall!

Yesterday finally felt like fall.  Football was the background music for the day and I couldn't help but light a pumpkin scented candle and surrender to the fact that yes, I was going to start decorating for Halloween.  Here is a preview.  I still have 12 more bins to unpack and merchandise, then edit and merchandise again:)  Happy Fall to me!!!

Welcome to my blog!

Well, I have finally accomplished (with the help of a very good friend - Thanks, Dev!) creating my own design blog.  As I was brainstorming with some friends over a glass of wine on what to call my blog, we were throwing out names that had to do with design.  Then it shifted to names that described me.  My friend said, "Well, when I think of you, I think loud."  And there you have it, Design Out Loud!  I might not be much of a writer, but I do have a set of pipes!  I am passionate about creating great spaces to live, work and entertain in.  So, I look forward to sharing my projects and passions with you...Out Loud!
